Ottawa South United Bursary Awards
Ottawa South United (OSU) Bursary Awards are presented annually to 8 OSU players (4 females, 2 from the competitive and 2
from the recreational program and 4 males, 2 from the competitive and 2 from the recreational program), who are under the
age of 21, and that are registered to attend the first year in a post secondary institution in the Fall.
The award recipients are chosen on merits relating to their academic standing, contributions to community, and their involvement
with OSU.
Applicants are asked to provide details of their soccer career and accomplishments, involvement in community and school activities, academic standing, how they personally benefited from their soccer experience, and their career plans.
Application submission deadline: June 15
BURSARY REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for a bursary, the following are required:
- You must be currently a registered player of OSU and have been for a minimum of the last 3 years.
- You must be under the age of 21.
- You must be registered to attend a post-secondary institution on a full time basis for the upcoming academic year.
- You must complete the application in your own words, using this template.
- You must provide one letter of reference that speaks to your involvement with OSU, the community and your school.
- Your bursary application, including letter of reference, must be received by June 15
- It may be submitted in Word format by email to admin@osu.ca or by regular mail to:

- Bursary recipients are required to provide proof that they are attending a post-secondary institution on a full time basis prior to receiving their funds.
- Applicants may only apply once for a bursary.
- Members of OSU Board of Directors and paid staff will not be able to provide reference letters to candidates.
- Immediate family of OSU Board of Directors and paid staff may not apply for a bursary award.
The awards committee shall consist of three of the four following members:
- OSU Board President,
- Two OSU Board Members
- OSU Operations General Manager
The information you provide will be treated as confidential, and will be shared in committee only to the extent necessary for the club to come to a decision of who will receive the awards. The rationale for the selection of bursary recipients is confidential and decisions by the awards committee are final.
