Recreational Programs - General Information

Ottawa South United (OSU) is one of Canada’s largest soccer clubs with close to 6500 annual participants and is widely considered as a leader within the youth sports community for its progressive approach to organizing and advancing community sport.

OSU prides itself in being a full service club - meaning that all ages and abilities have a suitable program and place to play within our club.

Our core servicing area is the southern part of Ottawa including the neighborhoods of Barrhaven, Manotick, Greely, Findlay Creek, Riverside South and Osgoode. Participants are welcome from all parts of Ottawa and the wider Eastern Ontario region.

Recreational soccer is a great place for players who are new to the game, or enjoy participating within a fun and safe environment, where all are welcomed.

OSU is able to offer sustainable play within our community all the way from youth to adult, meaning that participants will always have a great soccer option available to them close to home.

Note: while our main recreational season takes place in the summer, OSU offers programming year-round at a recreational level, with our Fall, Winter and Spring seasons

Important:

Recreational soccer would not be possible without dedication and support of volunteers, who on an annual basis help organize and lead activities. If you are interested in volunteering, OSU will provide you with an extensive pre-season and continual education program, where you are supported.

Program Outcomes:

Foster an enjoyment and eventual love for soccer and sport

Support the development of physical literacy and coordination skills in children

Support positive behavior as a teammate and friend

Introduce basic individual skills such as controlling the ball, turning, dribbling, passing and shooting
