The Ottawa South United Soccer Association (OSU) is committed to protecting your privacy. You can visit most pages on our Web site without providing us any information about yourself. On some of our pages we do require personal information from you. This privacy statement explains our policy related to the collection, storage and distribution of this information. This privacy statement only applies the OSU Web site.

What we collect ?

On pages where we do require personal information from you we will clearly state that we are collecting this information and will provide a link back to this privacy statement. More than often this information is required for registration purposes, and as such includes demographic information used to contact you my regular mail, email or telephone. It also includes information required to deliver a quality soccer program. This may include, but is not limited to, program selection, age, gender, position, ability, equipment sizing and position. In addition, emergency medical information is required should an accident occur and medical assistance need to be provided.

At the present time OSU it not requesting any financial information related to online monetary transactions.

How your information is used ?

Your personal information is used for the following purposes:

• to ensure our site is relevant to your needs
• to deliver a quality soccer program
• to alert you to important dates, events and meetings
• to register with the Club for a specific program
• We occasionally hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf including mailing newsletters. We will only provide those companies with the information they need to deliver the service, and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.

OSU may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to:

• conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on OSU or the site;
• protect and defend the rights or property of OSU and its website, or
• act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of the OSU employees, users of OSU programs or services, or members of the public.

Control of your information

When you register, or otherwise give us personal information, OSU will not share that information with third parties without your permission, other than for the limited exceptions already listed. It will only be used for the purposes stated above.

OSU is a volunteer based association. All volunteers and those engaged as contractors by OSU are subject to a reference screening process and police background check prior to any involvement with the club and access to your information. At all times, OSU will ensure that access to only the portion of the information required by the role, to complete the activities associated with that role will be permitted. These individuals include:

• Registrar
• Schedulers
• Coordinators
• Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Managers
• Trainers
• Camp Counselors
• Club’s Board of Directors
• Club Administrator
• Club General Manager

We will provide you with the means to ensure that your personal information is correct and current.
